PatientVR ready to try Metas new Meta Quest 3S VR headset
Meta announces the new Meta Quest 3S VR headset
The Meta Quest 3S VR headset marks another step toward making mixed reality more accessible, with an impressive feature set for its price point. With passthrough technology , users can blend the virtual and physical worlds seamlessly, making it well suited to gaming, multitasking, and entertainment. The headset also runs on Meta Horizon OS , with improved support for 2D apps such as YouTube and Facebook, plus spatial audio for a more immersive experience. Users can also take advantage of Travel Mode , which makes the headset easier to use on the move.
Although the Meta Quest 3S is designed with affordability in mind, it doesn’t compromise on performance. It shares core specifications with the Meta Quest 3, including a 2064 x 2208 resolution per eye and pancake lenses for a sharper, clearer view. Beyond gaming, it supports a range of creative and practical apps, including PatientVR , making it a versatile option for users with different needs and interests.
Meta also announced a price drop for the 512GB Meta Quest 3 , reducing the price from $649.99 to $499.99 . This makes the higher-end model even more attractive for tech enthusiasts seeking greater storage and premium performance.
“We are excited about the possibilities this new device could bring to PatientVR. As VR is still a relatively new field, the Meta Quest 3S creates a lower-cost entry point for hospitals, private practices, and even individuals who want to explore virtual reality,” says Director Mike Vasavada of Mobiddiction , the creator of PatientVR.
