PatientVR exhibits at Scotland’s premier P4H event

Investment NSW supports economic development and helps attract investment, reinforcing New South Wales (NSW), Australia, as a desirable place to visit, study, invest, and do business. As part of the Going Global to the UK program, Mobiddiction joined a select cohort that travelled to the UK. The roadshow also featured a number of Australian health-tech innovators exhibiting at P4H Scotland, including Hoopsy, HUMAN by Share Gratitude, LeapForward, Metluma, Neuromersiv, Roam Technologies, SDIP Innovations Pty. Ltd., Medlogical Innovations, CCS Corporation Pty Ltd, Personalised Surgery, iHealthScreen, and PatientVR.

We were honoured to showcase our patient virtual reality innovation to NHS Scotland’s Gordon Beattie, who took the time to visit our stand and experience the PatientVR application first-hand. Our exhibit was represented by our Founder and Director, Mike Vasavada , alongside virtual reality technology expert Joshua Lawson , who travelled with the NSW business cohort to the UK as part of the program.

About the P4H Event

NSS National Procurement (NP) welcomed around 700 buyers and suppliers to the iconic Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh for this year’s P4H Scotland conference. Now in its sixth year, the annual event is Scotland’s leading healthcare procurement and supply chain conference, hosted by NSS NP in partnership with BiP Solutions .

The conference opened with remarks from Director of National Procurement Gordon Beattie, NSS Chair Keith Redpath, and Tom Arthur MSP, Minister for Community Wealth and Public Finance. Mr Arthur spoke about the global challenges facing healthcare and highlighted the financial and sustainability benefits of collaboration and innovative thinking.

Throughout the day, attendees heard from a range of speakers across the industry. This included representatives from NSS NP, such as Stevie McLaughlin, Head of Governance and Sustainable Procurement, who spoke about the significant task of decarbonising global supply chains and incorporating environmental assessments into product tenders. The National Procurement Innovation & Improvement team, led by Adriana Roemmele, also shared insights into how innovation can help NHSScotland discover new ways to deliver services.

Beyond NSS, Alan Morrison, Deputy Director of Health Infrastructure and Sustainability at the Scottish Government, provided an insightful update on the financial landscape across NHSScotland, while Susan Morris, Stakeholder Engagement Lead at Ayrshire Cancer Support, delivered a compelling presentation on the role of procurement in supporting local communities.

As stated in the NHS event guide, “NHS Scotland’s procurement services aims to be at the centre of the transformation of healthcare. We want to welcome and encourage businesses who believe they can innovate to develop the game changing potential for the future of healthcare. Innovation is a way of thinking. Our suppliers know that sometimes even small ideas can make a big difference. The Scotland Innovates service provides a landing zone for current and potential suppliers looking to promote new ideas for innovative products or services. The service provides potential suppliers with information on innovation and development of products and technologies, while advertising useful opportunities such as innovation challenges for industry and academia, and funding routes to assist innovators to be assessed for the Scottish public sector.”
