Dr Prasun Datta
FAChAM (RACP), FRACGP, MRCGP (UK 2018), MBBS
Dr Prasun Datta is a Consultant in Addiction Medicine at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) and served as a key clinical advisor in the development of the VapingVR virtual reality program. With qualifications spanning Australia and the UK—including Fellowship of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine (FAChAM), Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK)—Dr Datta brought a wealth of experience in treating nicotine dependency and substance use disorders.
As a Staff Specialist in Addiction Medicine and an Addiction Medicine Specialist at Triple Care Farm (Mission Australia), Dr Datta is deeply embedded in frontline care for young people. His role as Clinical Lecturer at the Nepean Clinical School, University of Sydney, also ensured that the program was informed by current evidence and best-practice teaching.
Dr Datta’s expert consultation was central to developing a VR experience that is clinically sound, engaging, and empathetic.

Dr Malini Rajandran
MBBS, Dip. Child Health, FRACP
Dr Malini Rajandran is a Staff Specialist Paediatrician at the Centre for Addiction Medicine, NBMLHD, and served as a clinical consultant on the VapingVR project. With a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Diploma in Child Health, Dr Rajandran brings a strong foundation in paediatric and adolescent medicine. She holds Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) positions across The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and within the Nepean and Blue Mountains Local Health District.
A General Paediatrician with a special interest in adolescent health, global health, and medical administration, Dr Rajandran’s contributions ensured that VapingVR was developmentally appropriate and resonant with younger users.
As a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney, she combines academic leadership with practical expertise in education, training, and research. Her leadership across both hospital and community settings helped ensure the program addressed key gaps in youth education around vaping and health.
