Meta announces a new MetaQuest 3S VR headset (Price drop version from the MetaQuest 3)

The Meta Quest 3S VR Headset from Meta is a step forward in making mixed reality more accessible, offering an impressive range of features for its price point. With Passthrough technology, users can seamlessly blend virtual and physical worlds, making it ideal for gaming, multitasking, and entertainment. The headset also introduces Meta Horizon OS with enhanced support for 2D apps like YouTube and Facebook, and spatial audio for a more immersive experience. Users can even utilise Travel Mode, which allows the headset to be used in transit.

Although the Meta Quest 3S is geared toward affordability, it doesn’t skimp on performance. It shares core specifications with the Meta Quest 3, including a 2064 x 2208 resolution per eye and pancake lenses that provide a sharper field of view. In addition to gaming, it supports a wide range of creative apps like PatientVR making it a versatile tool for users across various interests.

Meta also announced a price drop for the 512GB Meta Quest 3 from $649.99 to $499.99, making the higher-end model more appealing to tech enthusiasts looking for top-tier storage and performance.

“We are excited about the possibilities this new device can possibly bring to PatientVR. Firstly, VR being a new field the MetaQuest 3S creates a new lesser investment entry point for hospitals, private practices and even individuals who want to explore virtual reality..” says Director Mike Vasavada of Mobiddiction, the creator of PatientVR.
